Maryhill

Our Maryhill nursery offers excellent environments for our children which allow our highly qualified team to provide exciting and fulfilling experiences.

Our baby department is dynamic and flexible, able to adapt to the needs of all our youngest children. This department, located upstairs, cares for children ages 0 to 2 years old. Equipped with high-quality facilities, our experienced baby department team have a broad range of skills to support and nurture our children and can provide the loving and caring environments needed.

Our playroom, located downstairs, cares for children aged 2 to 6 years old. Consistent with our baby department, our playroom is dynamic, and our highly qualified team offers a wide range of experiences catered to promoting the development of our children.

Our outdoor facilities use a child-friendly soft-fall surface to keep all of our children safe when taking part in more physical play outside. A large variety of toys and equipment to keep our children stimulated and to encourage friendly and respectful play together and allow our children to freely express themselves and enjoy the benefits of fresh air and physical exercise.

Frequently we offer the opportunity to the children to visit the local forest where they can explore new environments and new experiences that would not be available in a conventional setting such as fire safety and tree climbing. Opportunity to learn about forest wildlife and plant-life is also a big part of our forest school experience.

Cumbernauld

As Scotland’s best nursery, ranked by the Times newspaper, the facilities, standard of care, standard of management and standard of staff team are all at the highest level. Step By Step Cumbernauld has consistently been awarded four 6’s in their annual care inspectorate review, the highest grade achievable.

With an extremely skilled, qualified and dedicated team of practitioners, both the baby department and the playroom provide experiences that are full of love and fun so parents can be assured that their child is receiving the absolute best standard of childcare available.

Our outdoor facilities are unmatched with two large garden areas and an outdoor classroom where children are free to choose where they would like to play, making their time spent in outside as fulfilling and as fun as possible.

Children frequently visit the local forest area on walks and outings where they can take part in a range of different activities from games, arts and crafts using natural resources to learning about local wildlife and plant-life.

Killermont OSC

Killermont out-of-school care is a long-established service within Step By Step and over the years it has become a strong component of the local community. With a strong relationship with Killermont primary school, Killermont OSC is dedicated to taking care of primary school aged children after conventional school hours.

Established with the goal to provide excellent childcare for working parents, our experienced and hard-working team offer an environment where children can have fun and be themselves while also learning new things and creating strong friendships.

Situated in Killermont Parish Church, children have the opportunity every day to play in the park right outside the building, the opportunity for children to be able to freely choose to play inside or outside has been described by the care inspectorate as sector leading.

Outdoor Learning

At the centre of our outdoor learning at Step by Step is our forest school programme. Within a natural setting, children are able to engage in a healthy level of risk and problem solving which help foster a path towards self-discovery and growth.

Holiday Club

Aimed at supporting working families during school holidays, our holiday club offers a wide variety of exciting trips and activities throughout Glasgow. An all-day service, we aim to provide fulfilling experiences that cannot be typically found within our conventional setting by taking part in daytrips and outings to unique locations, for example the Glasgow science centre.
